Local Elections: May 2021
Ahead of May’s local elections Aynho Parish Council has been returned unopposed, meaning that all candidates nominated for the role have been appointed. This happens where the candidates applying are fewer than the stipulated number of Councillors; in this instance eight applied for a Parish Council of nine Councillors.
Parish Council elections happen every four years. Councillors are elected to serve on the Parish Council (PC) to represent the village and its needs, ensure continuity of key local services and, where affordable, improve the general look, feel and wellbeing of the village for residents. The annual precept is circa £26,000.
Monthly meetings usually happen on the first Monday of each month (excluding bank holidays) and residents can join the meeting and speak on any subject relevant to the village and/or the Parish Council. The village web site is regularly updated with Agendas (for upcoming meetings) and Minutes and other documents for recent meetings.
