Flower & Vegetable Show August 2023 – The Results
The Aynho Flower & Vegetable Show
The Show was held in the Village Hall, Aynho on Saturday 19th August.
The Hall looked wonderful, filled with all the entries to the classes, when the doors were opened at 2.30pm after the judging had been completed. The number of entries in the classes was up on last year as were the number of those who came to enjoy the Show and the delicious Teas which were available. The Committee and Helpers had worked hard to organise the Show and it was a great Village event.
Steve Chessum won the Best Vegetable Cup for his splendid beetroot – the judge was most impressed by the excellent quality of these. The George Ashbrook Vase was awarded to Stephen Spencer for his beautiful deep-burgundy dahlias. The Judge said that Vanessa Mill’s lovely dahlias were also considered for Best Flower in Show. The Homecraft Plate went to Amanda Limb. The Aynho Shield was most-deservedly won by Stephen Spencer, who not only entered many flower classes but had also entered some exceptional vegetables. The RHS Banksian Medal was won by Stephen Spencer, who is eligible for a year’s membership of Aynho Gardening Club.
