GARDENING CLUB HAPPY NEW YEAR to all Members of the Aynho Gardening Club. The Committee hope, as more of us have the vaccines, that we will be able to start up the 2021 Programme (an adaption of the 2020 programme). As mentioned in the end of year notes, the membership fee that you paid for 2020 will cover your Membership fee for 2021. We will keep you all informed about when we can start to get back together. Our priority, of course, will be to keep everyone safe. In the meantime, we can all look forward to the first cheery little snowdrops appearing in our gardens soon. Best wishes Annabel Bellamy |

WOMEN’S INSTITUTE Despite the Virus and the frequent changing of ‘visiting/travelling’ rules we do hope everybody had a wonderful Christmas and, where possible, met up with their friends and families as planned. Judging by all the fabulous decorations in the village, (up earlier than usual?) the Christmas spirit was definitely not dampened and with the vaccine and assurances of control of Covid19 let us hope that 2021 will give us back our old freedom. Won’t it be nice to actually see folks smiling rather than assuming and hoping they are under that face mask. All members will have received the Winter Quarter Magazine, in which are the suggestions for the next WI Resolution, so if you have an opinion then do please, in our case, let Val Swann have your answer by the end of the first week of this month. Also, as we can’t meet to talk about it, if any member has taken advantage of the many interesting talks organised by Denman via Zoom, again contact Jill or Fiona and we can arrange a sort of ‘opinion section’ in future in the Aynho Newsletters . As for our next meeting – say no more – but to you all A VERY HAPPY AND PEACEFUL NEW YEAR. |

WRITERS’ GROUP Aynho Writers had their usual Christmas email day this month where our efforts were distributed by email in two batches. Our items were anonymous so we had to guess the author of each one. We all enjoyed this as well as the interesting items. Thanks to Fiona for organising that so well. Our meetings are cancelled as are everyone’s at the moment but our email system has kept us cheerful. |
