Aynho Long Walk: 1st October 2015

We were pleased to welcome Mark, from Cropredy, to join the fifteen regulars on a perfect day for walking. We set off through the village and down Station Road to Millers Lane.  The ford was still dry, the leaves on the turn, as we continued up the hill to Souldern.  We skirted round the village and followed the track up to Nancy Bowles Wood.  From there the path led us past the Llama Farm but there were no llamas grazing there today.  We followed the road back down into the village and past the church and the pumping station on to the Portway route and back up to Aynho. We were pleased to see that the wall has been repaired very neatly, leaving the path clear again. Back at the pavilion many of us stayed for the welcome drinks and tasty refreshments. Five and a half miles.
