Raising funds for St Michael’s Church

Despite the rain, rain and more rain AND a flooded track I completed my marathon today.  The JustGiving page, https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/norman-white, will remain open for another 7 days in case there is anyone who has not donated yet and would like to do so.  To all those who have sponsored me a big thank you.  Merry Christmas.

I have just under 3 miles to go and should make it although it has been a bit more of a struggle this past week. The wet weather doesn’t help but I am determined to complete this challenge.  So far it has taken me 14½ hours.  The sponsorship is rising slowly but there is still a way to go so if any of you out there are happy to sponsor me please do.  There is still time.

Due to Covid 19 we, like many communities, have been unable to hold our usual fundraising events in 2020.  Having taken on the role as Treasurer for St Michael’s Church, I was made aware of just how big an impact this has made and wondered how we could raise some money to go towards the shortfall.  During lockdown I have tried to get out in the fresh air every day and managed it quite well during November so I have decided to do an “Advent Marathon”.  This is to walk the equivalent of a Marathon mainly around the amenity track at the edge of the village during the period of Advent.  This translates as just over a mile a day, which may not seem much to most people but, given my various medical problems and restricted mobility, I have to undertake this using a rollator.  I know that St Michael’s will be grateful for any support you can give, be it large or small.
