WI: Vintage Tea Party

On Thursday 3rd September Aynho WI members past and present celebrated 100 years of the WI with a Vintage Tea Party at the pavilion. Barbara Watkins welcomed everyone and asked Mrs Grant to cut the centenary cake. Back in 1965 she was lucky enough to have her named pulled out of the hat and so attended the Royal Garden Party celebrating the Golden Jubilee of the WI. There was a wide selection of delicious food to choose from and as well as the usual cakes, members had also made cakes from recipes which were popular in the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s. The afternoon was enjoyed by all but went by far too quickly.
