Proms in the Village Hall Saturday 14th September at 7.15pm
Fancy an evening of fine music, flag waving and kazoos? Then come to the Hall to watch the Last Night of the Proms. Bring some nibbles, a
bottle of something and your best singing voice to make the evening go with a swing.
From orchestral dances and marches to songs and arias. Offenbach’s light-footed musical comedy to Verdi’s operatic tragedies, world
premiers to traditional favourites, this year’s Last Night of the Proms is a spectacular climax to the world’s greatest classical music festival.
Charismatic American mezzo-soprano Jamie Barton, whose lustrous voice has established her as one of the most exciting performers of her generation, joins Sakari Oramo and the B.B.C Symphony
Orchestra and Chorus to lead the musical celebrations” (BBC). There will be no charge for entry,
donations will be gratefully accepted to offset the cost of the function. Any additional monies generated will go towards equipment for the Village Hall.
