Church Warden’s Roundup February 2019

The Christmas and New Year celebrations are once again behind us as we head into another year. No doubt dates are already in our diaries and phones as we plan for 2019.

The church Benefice team is currently busy planning for the arrival of the Revd Sue Cooper who is already meeting various people prior to her Licensing and Installation service. Date of which should be published shortly.

In the meantime work is well under way with the re-decoration of the church. Already it is looking refreshed and enhances this unique Grade 1 Listed Church building. It has many memories for Aynho residents who have spent their lives in the village and the many visitors some of whom travel from across the world. Importantly St Michael’s is the parish church of Aynho open for all. We must thank those who donate to the upkeep of the church and all those who give their time in many ways, often unseen.

I think our thoughts and prayers at the moment should be for us all to have tolerance, honesty and compromise as our members of parliament struggle to agree a sensible way forward with our future European relations.

God bless.                                   Graham Gibbs, Churchwarden  “St Michael’s” Aynho.
