Planning Policy Team

South Northamptonshire Council,

The Forum,

Moat Lane,

Towcester,

NN12 6AD.

It should be noted that comments submitted on the Plan and supporting documents need to be strictly made about legal compliance, the duty to co-operate and soundness. In order to understand more, it is recommended that you read the Planning Inspectorate document “Procedural Practice in the Examination of Local Plans” before completing the form

This explains what the Council is required to do in order for the Plan to be legally compliant, comply with the duty to co-operate and to be sound.

What happens next?

All of the comments on the legal compliance, the duty to co-operate and the tests of soundness will then be forwarded onto an Independent Inspector as part of the formal Examination. This is expected to take place in spring next year.

You can keep up-to-date with our progress by visiting the Councils website.

Representations may also be accompanied by a request to be notified at a specified address of any of the following:

  • the submission of the local plan for independent examination under section 20 of the Act,
  • the publication of the recommendations of the person appointed to carry out an independent examination of the local plan under section 20 of the Act, and
  • the adoption of the local Plan.

Any questions please contact the planning policy team on 01327 322265.

Yours sincerely,

Andy D’Arcy

Planning Policy and Growth Strategy Manager
