Gigaclear Installation – Progress Update Number 2 (09-June-2015)

The installation of the Gigaclear Ultrafast Broadband network started as planned on 20 April and has now be in progress for 7 weeks. There is about another 3 weeks of work remaining.

Many of you may have noticed that the installation works have temporarily been put on hold.  Gigaclear in conjunction with NCC Highways, who have overall responsibility for monitoring the method of works and quality of works undertaken by Gigaclear’s contractors, are reviewing their plans and it is expected installation works for the remaining areas will start again in about 10 days time. If you have had a notice to say works were due to take place – but they have not started – you will receive a new notice in due course.

We have been advised by Gigaclear that the pause in the installation works should not affect the live date too much – which is expected to between the end of July and the end of August. If you have not signed up you can do so at Gigaclear‘s website. There will also be a demonstration of the service in the Village Hall once the connection is live.

Do you run a Business – Have you heard about Connection Vouchers?

If you run a business in Aynho then your business “can get a connection voucher of up to £3,000 for faster, better broadband through the Government’s Broadband Connection Voucher Scheme” Gigaclear are one of the authorized suppliers. You can find out more details by visiting he Government’s Connection Vouchers website.

Finally the Parish Council would like to thank all residents for their patience during the construction of the network which can be disruptive for a couple of days and it is appreciated that not all residents have signed up at this stage for Gigaclear.  The general feedback from residents has been positive.

If you have any concerns please do email the Parish Clerk (sadie.patamia@aynho.org).
